What is Curious MINDS?
Curious MINDS is a student-led organization that encourages and supports students who have a passion for the STEM field. We provide free resources that aid students in their STEM education such as study guides, practice tests, webinars, etc. We are actively looking for volunteers to join our team.
Why did you guys start Curious MINDS?
We started Curious MINDS for many reasons. First, we simply have a passion for the STEM field in particular. We both aspire to pursue STEM in the future and want to provide resources so others can too. Second, since we are in a pandemic, access to resources for students were lacking. So we wanted to create this organization to help students in their science/math classes. Third, we come from a high school that is underrepresented in STEM so we wanted to start a STEM-related organization. Lastly, we started Curious MINDS for the community. We wanted to meet and network with students that are also passionate about the STEM field!
Who can apply to join your team?
At Curious MINDS, we are looking for volunteers in grades 9-12. Anyone is eligible to apply and join our team despite your location!
Whom are your resources geared towards?
Our resources are mainly geared towards high school students and anyone else with a passion for the STEM field. We provide resources in core science and math subjects that high school students can utilize as a supplement to their main classes. However, students not in high school are still able to use our resources.
Do volunteers receive service hours?
All volunteers are able to receive service hours. However, you should make sure that your school accepts service hours from a non-certified organization. Volunteers gain service hours through the work they do. For example, making a resource, writing a blog article, editing a resource, or reaching out to schools/organizations are ways to gain service hours.
